Rabo de Peixe is the Azores' largest fishing port and one of the island's most densely populated localities. The small town is not one of the archipelago's most beautiful, but the old village is picturesque with its colorful houses. Because of its history, Rabo de Peixe is a region with a rich heritage and cultural traditions, including traditional festivals, folklore, music and a vast architectural heritage. Religious festivals are popular with the local population and attract many visitors throughout the year. Almost every month has its own festival, making the city a dynamic and entertaining place to be.
