A small, isolated but picturesque and authentic village. Weather permitting, you're sure to get some great shots, with the ocean in the background. We're just ten minutes from the crater rim, with views over Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde, and twenty minutes from Mosteiros and its sandy beach. Some confusion surrounds the history of the city's settlement. It is said that the first settlers arrived as early as the end of the 15th century. Bretons then left their native Finistère for these even more distant lands (hence "Bretanha"). Certain signs are still present: the inhabitants pronounce the "u" as in French.
