Taulignan (population 1,600) is a medieval village of undeniable charm. Enclosed by a 14th-century fortified wall, it has preserved most of the towers that once formed part of its fortifications. The Porte d'Anguille and its two side towers are the best examples. Strolling through the streets towards the center, you soon come to the parish church of Saint-Vincent. Built in the 15th century and restored several times, it houses the remains of the village's lords in a side chapel. Taulignan's economy, once based on silkworm breeding, is skilfully showcased in the municipal museum. The museum is well worth a visit.
