6 km from Grignan and 4.5 km from Taulignan, at the crossroads and for a long time only from the only two routes linking the Mediterranean basin and the Iberian peninsula to the rest of Europe through the Alps barrier, this village of 200 inhabitants stretches over a flat hillside among lavender and broom. Many 14th and 15th century residences line up here. We can admire the beautiful vaults and Renaissance windows of some facades, the washhouse, the restored priory and the temple, but also the huge hackberry tree behind the temple. Many forest roads start from this village of character. You can also reach the old Celtic track which was the medieval road from Taulignan to Châteauneuf-de-Mazenc via the priory of Aleyrac. Here, we stop at La Marguerite, a charming country bistro, which is a café, bar and restaurant, where local artists are on display.
