10 km from Villeneuve-de-Berg, this village is located in the valley of the Ibie. This valley, away from the main tourist routes, is undoubtedly one of our favourite bushwalking routes. The village of St-Jean-le-Centenier is located at the limit of the basaltic layers of the Coironnais (black stones) and the limestone layers (white stones), hence its particularity of having a beautiful set of houses with facades forming a black and white chessboard. For a long time, the village was called St-Jean-le-Noir... The cobbled streets, vaulted passages and old doors contribute to the charm of the village. Beautiful fortified church mentioned in 1137
