Opening onto the southernmost part of the department, the landscape here is marked by wine growing. Bourg-Saint-Andéol, a town of 7,800 inhabitants, boasts some beautiful town houses. Amongst the must-sees are the Nicolay mansion (15th and 16th centuries), the former Récollet convent (15th century), now the town hospital, the church of Saint-Andéol (11th century) and the jewel in the crown: the Bishops' Palace. A few kilometres away, carved into the rock overhanging the fountains of the Gouls de Tourne, do not miss the Roman bas-relief dedicated to the god Mithra. You should also know that the former Franciscan convent houses the Maison des arts du cirque et du clown.
