Old buildings with facades marked by the passage of time, trickling fountains and washhouses reminiscent of the hard work of the past... Castelnau-Montratier is firmly rooted in its time, with the past rubbing shoulders with the present through a unique heritage. As you enter the town, you won't want to miss the 3 windmills, testimony to a region that has been farming since the dawn of time. Admire the caselles (dry-stone huts), or the Romanesque churches. 6 Roman roads once passed through here. The town was razed by war, then rebuilt by the Seigneur de Ratier in 1250. The château dates back to the 13th century, when it served as a hospital.
