The hamlet of Escayrac, which now belongs to the commune of Lendou-en-Quercy with Saint-Cyprien and Saint-Laurent-Lolmie, is located on the via Podiensis. If it is known for housing the Dominican monastery of Notre-Dame, its name is attached to that of one of the oldest families of Quercy whose members have distinguished themselves over the centuries: Étienne Henri, Marquis d'Escayrac, Baron de Lauture, Colonel of the Royal Regiments of the Grenadiers of Guyenne under Louis XVI, a figure of the counter-revolution in Quercy, or Marie Joseph Henri Léonce d'Escayrac de Lauture, Marquis d'Escayrac, deputy of Tarn-et-Garonne from 1827 to 1831 and peer of France.
