Barguelonne-en-Quercy is a new commune born in 2019 from the merger of the communes of Bagat-en-Quercy, Saint-Daunès and Saint-Pantaléon. It takes its name from a stream, the Barguelonnette or Petite Barguelonne, a sub-tributary of the Garonne, which flows through two neighboring départements, Lot and Tarn-et-Garonne. With its chalk and white clay soils, the commune is typical of the Quercy Blanc landscape. The three villages that make up the commune all have pretty churches and a heritage of white stone buildings in common. The church of Saint-Pantaléon dates back to the 12th century, while that of Saint-Daunès features a painting by Marguerite-Zéolide Lecran.
