Le Vignon-en-Quercy is a new commune resulting from the merger on January1, 2019 of the communes of Cazillac and Les Quatre-Routes-du-Lot. Cazillac was the chief town of a Carolingian vicarage, and Les Quatre-Routes was created in 1912 around the railroad station. An essential part of the commune's development, the station was used to trade agricultural goods such as cattle and walnuts. At the beginning of the 20th century, the village experienced a boom with bars, restaurants and a whole service economy, which slowed down from the 70s onwards. Today, the village is a pleasant stopover and an invitation to stroll along its hiking trails.
