In fact, these two peaceful villages have joined together to form a single commune, while each retaining its own name. The area was significantly affected by the troubles of the French Revolution, with the lord living in the heart of the village. All that remains of the château is the 16th-century watchtower, from which the village can be overlooked. The castle's former chapel has been preserved and is now the church of Saint-Victor. Here you can admire the remarkable frescoes painted by Estonian artist Nicolas Greschny, about whom Picasso is said to have said that "it held up well". Finally, the village's streets and squares have a slightly confined atmosphere.
