Built on a plateau around a castle with a 14th century tower, this village controlled the Lot which was used as a trade route. If today the river is popular with holidaymakers, it has long been used by barges transporting wine, agricultural products, wood, building materials ... In the 19th century, it served as a pier where coal was loaded before export. Thanks to this fossil fuel, Boisse experienced an industrial development as shown by the crosses of the Verriers, before taking the name of Boisse-Penchot. On the way to Santiago de Compostela, the cross of Millagues should not be missed.
