This natural circus is one of the most impressive sites in Europe. Three million years ago, the site was still a vast plain. Nowadays, it is the perfect illustration of the work of water erosion. From the natural lookout of La Baume, you can observe the very charming hamlet of Navacelles and the cliffs that dominate it. A small road, embedded in the rock, leads to the bottom of the crater. During the crayfish fishing season the hamlet is very busy. Looking up, the overwhelming spectacle is just as grandiose. Upstream you can join the powerful resurgence of the Foux and the remains of its mill. In periods of low water, there remains the charm and freshness of a ruined mill with abandoned millstones.
