Hard hit by the Wars of Religion, Uzès Cathedral, which was almost destroyed in the 17th century, now hosts classical music concerts. Indeed, people come from far and wide to stock up at the Wednesday farmers' markets. Even more numerous are those who flock to the famous Place aux Herbes on Saturday mornings, where you can sample local specialities and savour the charm of these markets in the south of France. Truffle lovers are in for a treat on the third Sunday in January, when the truffle market takes place on the Place aux Herbes, providing an opportunity to attend the famous auction and, of course, taste the famous mushroom.
