Until the French Revolution, Davron - from the Latin Daveriusonem ("domain of Daverius") - was just one of the hamlets of the parish of Feucherolles. Situated on the Versailles plain, the commune is bordered to the south by the Ru de Gally. Archaeological digs have uncovered several ancient settlements at La Bicterie and Le Murger Dormois, as well as 422 sesterces - coins dating from the 1st to 3rd centuries. Today, the village is best known for its 3 ha of vines, planted in 2016 on the edge of the village and whose first growths can be discovered, since 2021, at the Domaine de La Bouche du Roi.
