Although Eaubonne was occupied long before the Roman conquest, the most important remains date back to Antiquity, in particular the Paris-Lillebonne road which crossed its territory. As for its name, it appeared for the first time under the reign of Dagobert. In the 11thcentury , the fief became a seigneury of the Montmorency family and then of the Condé family in the 17th century. In the XVIIIth century, the village became urbanized and became a privileged holiday resort. In the XIXth century, there were no less than fifteen castles. But it is the railroad that favored its development. Today it is a destination of choice offering nice walks in its streets lined with beautiful houses and gardens.
