This sub-prefecture in the north of the Yonne often lives on Parisian time. And for good reason: many Sénonais work in Paris, an hour away by train. However, the town has managed to preserve its provincial charms. A Gallo-Roman village, then a major religious centre (the bishopric of Paris depended on the archbishopric of Sens for a long time), this archiepiscopal city gave birth to the first of our Gothic cathedrals.
