Pietra-di-Verde is a mid-mountain village with a magnificent view of the Alesani dam, the sea and the island of Monte Cristo in the distance. The commune comprises the hamlets of Munticchiu, Mucchiu and Paesolu. Its beautiful, high, restored houses are perched on rocky outcrops. In the heart of the village, you can visit the 18th-century Baroque church of Saint-Elie. It is the only parish church in Corsica dedicated to this saint, a Hebrew prophet. This beautiful edifice has three naves, four chapels and a five-storey bell tower. The village is also home to a Romanesque chapel, San-Pancraziu, dating from the 10th century.
