Until the 16th century, the village of Casalabriva was located about ten kilometres below the present village, at the place known as San Ghjuvani. Traces of this old village can still be found, as well as traces of a church, some walls of which are still standing, fifteen minutes away on foot. The current church Saint-Michel is remarkable for its pyramidal bell tower and a tabernacle of the XVIIth century classified as a Historical Monument in 1984. A very beautiful residence, called U Palazzu, is to be seen and an oil and cereal mill, which has since become an inn, the Mill of Calzola in activity in the middle of the twentieth century. A superb paddle wheel can still be seen there.
