The three hamlets that make up Appietto have retained their authenticity, and are dominated by the ruins of the castle of the Counts of Cinarca. In the village, an elegant tower decorated with Arabic calligraphy bears witness to the Moorish and Saracen invasions that lasted throughout the Middle Ages. Finally, you can visit the square parish church and the ruins of the Romanesque church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste. A beautiful walk takes you to the San-Bastiano pass, with views over the Gulf of Lava and the Gulf of Sagone. Another hike follows in the footsteps of the green palace of the bandit Nonce Romanetti, who hid out in the hamlet of Lava.
