MONBANA

Chocolatier

It was in September 2009 that the good news welcomed all chocolate fans: the installation of a Monbana temple at the exit of the city, two steps from the Pataterie and the pizzeria Del'Arte. It is true that the famous Industriel industrial chocolate maker who decided to enter the franchise market, it was normal for the head-location of the department to have his store before many large cities! Good choice: Since that date, the 120 m ² shop no longer counts its faithful. Especially at the time of the great Christian festivals (Christmas, Easter…) where the gourmets hurry to discover the latest news (chocolate candy, sparkling chocolate…) which, very quickly, join the team of the great classics made the reputation of the house founded in 1934 (chocolate powder, Neapolitan which accompanies the coffee after meals).

LA P'TITE MOUSSE

Gourmet products Beer and brewery

It was in 2009 that the former pastry pastry craftsman from Château-Saved Hervé Grimault opened its artisanal brewery at the Parc des Loges. With wheat, barley, water and hops, Hervé made his passion by creating his own beers (7 hours for the brewing, 17 days for maturation) which can be rousses or elliptical! or white, golden to spices, chestnut or fruit. All of these "Grimhel" - the boss's brand - can also be tasted on site, just a few steps from the manufacturing workshop, in a large area where it makes good use of beer with friends. Of course, at the request, Hervé organizes private and/or theme evenings.

DOMAINE SAINT JUST

Winery

In the triangle Brézé, St. Cyr and Montreuil-Birthplace, limestone trays house the plots of the area created in 1996 by Yves Lambert (now Deceased). Her son, Arnaud joined his father in 2005 and is now head of the vineyard of 41 ha. To live this land historically devoted to large white wines on various basements to develop white vintages, but also to haunt typical typiques in the corner and wines more on the margins. An application to reasoned culture led Arnaud to convert to organic farming in 2006 (parcel of Clos Moleton first) and prepares for biodynamie for the entire production, without chemical fertilizers or pesticides and chemical herbicides, on fertilized soils in cow's manure. This area deals with the production of the nearby Brézé castle wines. We pay particular attention to the Saumur Coulée de Saint-Cyr 2010 which does not mark unanimity, but has the particularity of being "noble" and holding long and long in mouth, although his nose is discreet with vegetable and vanilla notes; similarly, the Champigny Red Lands 2011, à, which is flexible, greedy, and very fruity.

VOLAILLER DELANOË

Poultry

Richard Delanoë's father passed on his passion to his sons: to Richard, who specialised in poultry 10 years ago, and to his brother who runs the Delanoë butcher's shop next door. You will find them at the bottom of the market. The key word for this poultry specialist is education: indeed, it is not enough to sell very good products, it is especially important to explain how to cook them to bring out all their flavours. And this is what Richard Delanoë does through the recipes listed on his website. Here the rabbits are farmed and come from the Bois de Boulle farm (near La Turballe). The poultry, selected in 3 different regions (Landes, Challans, Ain) all have a Label Rouge. The pigeon in blood, the Mesquer pigeon, i.e. not bled, is honoured on the tables of the greatest restaurateurs. You are bound to find what you are looking for in the wide range of kebabs, roasts, black and yellow chickens, farm chickens, organic chickens, Bresse chickens, Rennes chickens, cockerels, paupiettes, boneless quails, white puddings, paving stones with cheese or pesto, guinea fowl roasts with sauerkraut, grilled meats, duck breast, capon, foie gras, terrines... Here, we are very attached to the fact that the product corresponds as well as possible to the expectations of the customers, that's how the turkey roast with chorizo and mushrooms was created! With a little salt, pepper and white wine you can prepare an exceptional poultry! Excellent value for money.

Ludovic Condroyer is the manager of the Talensac shop. He and his team treat no less than 100,000 customers per year. Very demanding on the quality of their products, they regularly visit producers from other regions. Here, artisanal farmhouse cheeses take pride of place, as well as local producers: raw milk cheeses, Machecoulais, Pont d'Yeu, Grands Causses, Livarot and many other appellations for all tastes and budgets. You will even find ghee (clarified butter) for cooking, and Roellinger spices that will enhance a plain yoghurt. Every week specialities are prepared on the spot: truffade, aligot, tartiflette of all kinds... croziflette, chevriflette, chtififlette... what a treat!

DOMAINE DE LA MARE

Cider grower

All ingredients are assembled for the production of a production all that is most natural. Marc Lhommeau has cultivated his orchard since 1993 on a land known since the 1930 s. The Domaine is two hectares of certified organic apple trees since 2012 and eight varieties of apples that will be transformed into a acidulous crude cider, "L'Dissenters" or in a round semi-dry and sweet-dry beverage "Le Généreux". " A love of apples ", for apple juice, will also delight the palate on other occasions (for example breakfast). Marc Lhommeau is of these cidriculteurs who work the apple like other grapes. A small visit will give you the opportunity to make you discover his passion. For a moment, he has been campaigning within the Association for the Promotion of Cidricole Production in Maine (APPCM), which values the brand "Loire Cider" and connects producers of the various tributaries of the river. A common impetus to improve the quality of the Loire cider, to make them known and to have their Thalys recognised, in order to share, above all, the love of the work well done where arboriculture and oenology also have a say.

PETIT LIEU POISSONNERIE

Fish and seafood shop

Opposite the church in the Saint-Félix district, right next to the famous little bakery, Le Petit Lieu is a new fishmonger's shop. Pierre welcomes us with a smile, accompanied by Paul for a fresh duo. We discover the beautiful stalls glistening with the day's catch of fish and shellfish from the coasts of Brittany, La Turballe, Le Croisic and the Vendée (Saint-Gilles and Sables-d'Olonne). A fish tank where children can peer through the glass at the movements of crabs, spider crabs or Breton lobsters (depending on arrivals) is always a hit! An outside sign announces the "catch of the day", with line-caught sea bass, hake, meagre or line-caught whiting that day. In short, a traditional catch that respects the seabed: a quality, local catch. Mackerel, monkfish, sardines and octopus rest on their ice... Pierre and Paul raise the fillets for you, and also transform the fish in a catering style, with plenty of ideas for aperitifs (fish terrine, haddock fillet, acras, fish bread) and a bottle of wine to take away. At the end of each week, you'll leave with the dishes of the moment: fish and chips or blanquette de la mer, for example. Oysters, lobsters, shrimps, everything reminds us of the open sea.

When it comes to travel cakes, the Fondant baulois is the benchmark, with its delicious chocolate speciality and salted butter caramel note. DOMAINE MICHEL BLOUIN

Winery

Above all do not come here to simply "buy" wine. Come and install yourself at home at the corner of fire, on one of the big wooden tables under the trees beams, and let Jean-Christophe (the son of Michel), "tell you" his vineyard and wine. If you go through the summer, you can even have a small course on the different varieties whose branches run along the walls. Finally, let yourself be involved in discovering the different nectars: Anjou, Anjou-villages, slopes-du-layon, thatch, cabernet… With intelligence, you are being tested two by two, very useful to compare when you are not a oenology expert. If rosé (dry or semi-dry) is most demanding, it is undoubtedly on the slopes of the layon that our coup has worn: slopes-du-layon-saint-aubin (2009), beaulieu, and thatch, the precious Cuvée which offers a lesser marquée than others, but stretches into the mouth with infinite aromas of candied fruit.

HELIX GOURMET

Regional groceries

The snail, here called "luma" is a real local gastronomic speciality. Less well known than its Burgundian counterpart, it is nonetheless an unavoidable speciality of the Bocage Vendéen. Gabrielle Moreau raises and cooks them. They are offered fresh and ready to bake (in shells, mini-bouchées, cabbage...) for the aperitif or as a starter, in jars of flesh or cooked. You can also take a tour of the farm with a commentary by the heliciculturist - a bit of culture doesn't hurt! -, then aperitif with snail tasting.

LA HALLE AUX SAUCISSONS

Charcuterie

This small shop close to the shops hides treasures for charcuterie fans, and we are. It was the smell of salting that we took the step and put this small voice in the closet, which told us: " No, we must not: your plan! '. So bad, it's too appetising at the time of the aperitif!
