Dating back to 1747, this 10 ha property has belonged to the same family since 1936. The red and rosé wines of Château Barrabaque are among the most famous of the Fronsac and Canon-Fronsac appellations. Concerned about the respect of the environment, Caroline Noël-Barraux, the owner since 2004, practices a reasoned culture of the vine. The methods of cultivation and vinification combine both tradition and modern techniques. The vines are worked according to the terroir. It is a beautiful address on the wine road.

This address isn't exactly sober, given the number of beautiful bottles on the shelves. A humorous wink from the people in charge of this cellar, bar and even restaurant. The selections are small nuggets unearthed in France or in vineyards further afield, and are always genuine discoveries. The cellar, which boasts over 500 references, organizes tastings of wines, world whiskies, cognacs and beers, as well as one-off events; it also invites winemakers to present their treasures.

The area is also home to a number of fine shops, including L'Ami Txulette, a perfect example for lovers of quality meats, poultry and ready-made meals at reasonable prices. Mainly Label Rouge products: Chalosse beef, farm-raised pork from the South-West, farm-raised veal, Quercy lamb, Landes and Bresse poultry. Sausages, kebabs, country terrine, ready-to-eat dishes... are all home-made by our craftsmen, who also specialize in beef ribs, more or less matured. Born 5,000 years B.C. from the encounter between alcohol and the air of time, vinegar is the result of a formidable natural alchemy that stings wine and turns it sour (vin-aigre). Jean-Philippe, an award-winning craftsman of taste, owns a handful of vinegar factories in France and produces some fifteen different vinegars fermented in oak barrels using fresh, local produce, with no additives, colorants or sugar. A fascinating visit!

Both a boutique and a delicatessen, it's a delight to find local crafts and products that reflect the region's identity, as well as excellent local produce from short distribution circuits: juices, spirits, cookies, jams, terrines, preserves, ready-to-heat dishes and other delicacies exclusively from the South-West. A warm welcome awaits you, and you won't want to miss out on some mouth-watering tastings. Over the past few months, Pitoresk has also become a lively venue for aperitif concerts.

An agricultural cooperative specializing in fattened ducks, Palmagri brings together 9 passionate producers, all of whom are breeders and feeders. The ducks are raised outdoors in the Gironde region, between the southern Gironde vineyards and the Landes de la Gironde. The recipes, which use no preservatives or colorants, are concocted in Auros, in the production workshop. Duck in all its forms: tournedos, magret, fricassée de guit, garbure, foie gras, stuffed neck, boudin... The store opens on Saturday afternoons before the festive season.

No doubt that the tasting stall, set on the windowsill, will make you want to go through the door. Jean Luc Wrobel has set up his artisanal salting and cheese shop in an old grain silo. After some twenty years in Savoie, this Pole of origin came to settle in Saint-Emilion. Cheeses from Savoy, the Pyrenees, Auvergne, a dozen varieties of sausages, black pig shoulder nuts... Pierre, the artisan baker, has been inducted as an "Ambassador of bread", which is a guarantee of quality. Enjoy ciabatta, a very soft Italian bread with olive oil as an ingredient, Norwegian cake-shaped cake topped with sesame and spelt seeds or bougnatte, a traditional baguette that recalls the Auvergne origins of the patron by its name. To this must be added pastries, homemade cakes (candied fruit and rum or lemon and poppy for example), honey financier, etc. Pastries only appear on weekends, except during the King's cake season when they are made all week long. Pierre and his wife Christine are fervent defenders of old-fashioned bread and organic products. It is an excellent address to remember and share without moderation.

Château Sociando-Mallet, located at the top of the Baleyron hill, has won over the hearts of wine lovers over the years. Created on the initiative of Jean Gautreau, the 85 hectares of vines planted on gravelly hilltops are today sublimated and enhanced by his daughter Sylvie and her team. Full-bodied wines with a deep, dark color, to be savored during free tours and tastings. You can also take advantage of a 4 km trail to discover 5 renovated winegrowers' cabins and a fishing hut.

Artisans pastry chefs, chocolate makers, ice-cream makers and confectioners for four generations, the members of the Boutet family are renowned for the quality of their sweet and succulent dessert recipes. Here, one enjoys experimenting with the chef's creations as much as rediscovering the great classics. Among the delicacies you can't miss, try the three-chocolate mousse on a crispy praline and the delicious éclairs. In terms of innovations, Xavier Boutet offers a range of macaroons and a verrine of mascarpone mousse.

Created in 1935, this cooperative winery produces Haut-Médoc, 200,000 bottles a year from 55 hectares. The vineyards border the Saint-Estèphe appellation to the south, and extend eastwards over gravelly hilltops overlooking the estuary. The winery produces La Paroisse, Le Grand Paroissien, Petit Paroissien, Petite Paroisse, Elite de la Paroisse and rosé de la Paroisse. The red wines are full-bodied, with well-melted tannins and a long finish. Available in bottles and 5-liter bottles.

The Teyssier family has been delighting gourmets since 1905... Whether it's chichis, waffles, churros, crêpes or mascots, everything is homemade. The stars of Le Fin Glacier? Organic ice creams with no added coloring or preservatives. They are made by a master ice-cream maker from organic milk and fruit, for both scoop and Italian-style ice cream. The Maison Pariès boutique is historic, as it was the first to open its doors in 1914. 8 other boutiques have since been created, notably in Biarritz, Espelette and Urrugne. Chocolate makers for 5 generations, perpetuating the tradition of excellence and creativity. This family distillery has a long history dating back to the early ^20th century in the Alps. Its recipes for wild sloe, blackberry, mirabelle and walnut liqueurs have established its reputation. Its future lies in whiskies. The distillery grows its own barley, malts it on site and ages it in French oak barrels, producing exceptional local single malt and single cask whiskies. A gourmet restaurant will open in June 2024.

Did you know? Fronsac also brews beer! It's all happening at the 3 Tertres artisanal and organic brewery. This brewery was founded in 2017 by Alain, a native of Ch'ti! In the old Belgian tradition, he brews 3 varieties of beer, but that's without taking into account seasonal ephemera (Christmas, etc.). We're there to buy a few bottles of this malted vintage (of course!), a visit or a tavern-style aperitif on Friday evenings from 5pm to 10pm.

The Ô Sorbet d'Amour ice cream parlour is an institution that was founded in 1935 on the Arcachon basin, in Moulleau. Today, there are a good number of pretty shops in the region in the colour of acid orange with the first emblematic shop of the brand still on the promenade of the Moulleau pier. The brand has developed in Arcachon, Andernos, Cap-Ferret, Lacanau, La Teste-de-Buch, Toulouse, Braga in Portugal and of course in Bordeaux, 2 cours de l'intendance next to the Grand Hotel. A wind of modernity blew on the sign of this artisan ice cream maker with the development of the brand Ô Sorbet d'Amour in franchise. The gourmet recipes are still made in the traditional way; the milk is supplied by the last farm in the Arcachon basin, then transformed in a traditional way with fruit and high quality ingredients in the laboratory in La Teste. The sorbets (about thirty) with a thousand and one flavours are very original, you can't resist sauternes grape, kalamansi or strawberries and piquillos, you can enjoy ice creams (about 60 flavours, some of them alcoholic), or the famous Pinasse and its scoops of ice cream for 15 people, the emblematic dessert of the ice cream maker Ô Sorbet d'Amour.

Château Filhot is a wine estate located in the commune of Sauternes. It is classified as a second growth in the official Bordeaux wine classification of 1855. The estate covers 350 hectares, including 62 hectares of vineyards. Château Filhot is renowned not only for its wine, but also for its vast English-style park created by landscape gardener Louis-Bernard Fischer in 1845. Tours can accommodate up to 35 people and are available in French and English. Appointments can also be made for weekend visits.

In the heart of the Marché des Capucins, at the stall of La Table de Don Quichotte, you'll find the very best in Basque and Spanish gastronomy, with exceptional products: superb Iberian hams, a wide range of cured meats (sausages, pepper-rolled ventrèche), generous chorizos, lomo embuchado and Basque specialties (axoa, piment d'Espelette). For a snack, try a Serrano ham crêpe, bell pepper and Serrano croques and Serrano cheese rolls.

The prune is embodied by the house Roucadil since 1890. In the store, you can buy them classic or filled. You can also find chocolate sticks filled with prunes, chocolate bars with fruits from Lot-et-Garonne (dried figs, caramelized hazelnuts, dried apples married with caramel, goji berries). The know-how is plural with the beggars, the chocolate bars puffed rice or without sugar. To offer, the baskets will make a nice gift.

Hasnaa, chef chocolatière spotted on the TV show "MasterChef", selects exceptional cocoa beans herself from the growers to make grand cru chocolates, without preservatives or artificial flavoring. Her creations are original and subtle, like the coriander praline or the timut pepper ganache. In her boutique-atelier on rue Fondaudège, she offers workshops to introduce visitors to the art of chocolate-making. A boutique is also open in Arcachon.

Clos des Menuts, AOC Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, is a must-see wine estate with superb monolithic medieval cellars dotted with ancient grain silos. An underground cellar in its own right, with dusty bottles, nooks and carved stone walls... On your way back up to the boutique, you'll enjoy a tasting session and no doubt leave with a few bottles, boxes or accessories. Special offers and other good deals offering excellent value for money are a great opportunity to seize.

Ice cream, yes, but homemade! Tante Jeanne's ice creams are made with milk from the owners' Landes farm! A total of 40 flavors of ice cream and sorbet are available from the stand, which has been enlarged to make room for the Cantine gourmande. Italian-style ice cream in vanilla, chocolate, raspberry, pistachio and passion fruit flavors, and a multitude of ice cream flavors: wild strawberry, tiramisu, apple-raisin, cookies, amarena cherry, blue ice cream... A real treat at the right price.

On the road to Ossau-Iraty, take a gourmet break at the farm of Isabelle and Jean-Louis. Located in Orègue, near Labastide-Clairence, the farm is based on 35 ha, of which 25 are reserved for the grazing of animals and poultry, all year long. Manex ewes with red heads for cheese, milk, curds, yoghurts... pigs raised in the open air for salted meats and hams, because here, everything is transformed at the farm which can also be visited. Products in short circuit because we are here adept of the locavorism which is a consumption produced in a radius of 100 km.

Nestled in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, this estate, more than a century old, extends over 16 hectares of vines and 5 hectares of woodland, testifying to its commitment to preserving biodiversity. Arnaud Resampa, who is passionate about viticulture, decided at the age of 45 to leave the agri-food sector to settle with his family on the estate.
