Copains des champs, is above all the meeting of producers who became friends and who wished to put forward products mainly from their region, 100% responsible, 100% authentic and at a fair price. Without intermediaries, the farmers leave their production in a deposit-sale. There are more than 1,000 organic or sustainable products, ranging from dry to fresh, not forgetting wines, natural fruit juices, olive oils, honeys... The store welcomes its producers on Saturdays, organizes tastings and contests.

Capbreton is one of the few towns where the fish goes directly from the fisherman to the consumer! Every day, depending on the weather conditions, as you stroll along the quay, you will witness the return of the gillnetters, caseyeurs, trollers or the only trawler of the fleet. Gavroche, P'tit Loup, Syrius... At the foot of the harbour master's office, each of the 19 boats has its own sales table, filled with ice flakes. The fishermen deposit, under your eyes, the catch of the day! The surplus is collected by the Saint-Jean-de-Luz/Ciboure auction truck.

Of course, the Place d'Aquitaine does not have the charm of the Place Lafayette. Nevertheless, you are in the heart of the old Villeneuve, on the left bank, and above all, you will find nearly thirty organic producers (up to forty in summer). Market gardeners, bakers, beekeepers and pork butchers are present and have been defending an eco-responsible approach since 1975: the Villeneuve organic market is one of the oldest in France. In summer, the market goes on until 2:30 pm with the possibility of having lunch (organic, of course) on the spot!

Les Halles de Saint-Jean-de-Luz is the lungs of the town. The real gastronomic hive is at dawn, when a ballet of deliverymen, market gardeners, fishmongers, butchers, creameries, wine merchants, bakers and others, bustle about to present the very best. This mini "Rungis" has been an institution since 1884, and has successfully adapted to the latest fashions. It's a permanent daily showcase of fresh produce, with over 35 professional stands selling vegetables, fruit, seafood, hams, local cheeses and Basque cakes.
