At the intersection of Coconi, a sign mentions Mamoudzou at 22 km and allows you to cross the island by Ongounjou. On the right, you enter the heart of Coconi and its agricultural development zone with its high school and its spice garden on your left. A nice farmers' market takes place every first Saturday morning of the month, at the entrance of the high school compound, it is the undisputed rendezvous of locals and mzungus alike. Since 2019, the project to open a cooperative in front of the agricultural high school to allow farmers to exhibit vanilla, ylang-ylang, cinnamon or clove, and visitors to come and buy 100% local products is underway.
