" Where there are makis " is what Combani means, a large village buried in the forest and dominated by Mount Combani (477 m). Former agricultural heart of the island, there are still old machines that were used for sugar exploitation. Today, it is a pleasant and important village with a few restaurants, a barracks for the adapted military service, a post office and a supermarket. Only thirty minutes from Mamoudzou, the village, sometimes lively, can be a good starting point to discover the island.
