Chirongui is a small village with a few craftsmen and several grocery stores at the end of the bay of Bouéni. The only gas station in the south is here, so consider it if you want to go around without any trouble. In 2021, a new cultural center with a cinema was inaugurated and offers a nice program mixing local and international artists. The city has also developed beautiful brochures on the heritage and know-how of the area, a must read. The village is also dynamic with its hospital and its high schools which attract Mzungus and locals. Finally, its main attraction is the ascent of the iconic Mount Choungui
