M'tsamboro is a pretty and quiet traditional fishing village, it is also the orange capital of Mayotte, don't miss the eponymous festival in July. So it will not be rare during the dry season to be able to buy some citrus fruits always rather green, but which are particularly juicy and sweet. The village is also an archaeological site, full of legends and history. It was the ancient capital of the island before the arrival of the Chirazians in the 16th century. There are the ruins of a royal palace and tombs in the Mjikura district. After M'tsamboro, there is a superb viewpoint overlooking the capes of the west coast. The lookout installed at the bend gives a magnificent view of the north of the island, with the Choizil islets which are two small islets linked by a strip of white sand at low tide. This is where you can rest before heading towards the islet of Mtsamboro. On both sides of this cape, the beaches M'tsanga Tsoha, accessible by a rather sloping path, and M'tsanga Chifouni, which is reached rather by the sea. The commune has preserved its authenticity, and the few beaches and islets bathed in the well-preserved nature reinforce the magic of the place. From the road, one can see on a clear day the silhouette of Anjouan, located 80 km away.
