It is the first village in the Izarbe Valley, after the descent from the Alto del Perdon, and has about 200 inhabitants. Along the main street, which is part of the Camino, and lined with stone houses with coats of arms, pilgrims can refresh themselves at the fountain built in 1921. The main street is pleasant and is an opportunity to take a break and chat with the locals, who are always delighted to see pilgrims passing by. It's also relaxing if your last stop was Pamplona and its somewhat frenetic activity, but here we are in a small town of a much more reasonable size. There are not many shops to buy food, but there is plenty to eat.
