A small hour and a half walk from Îlet-à-Malheur and about 5 hours from the Col des Bœufs, Îlet-à-Bourse is a surprising place. Surprising because only a few families live here, around a modest school, a wooden chapel of Malagasy inspiration, two cottages and ... a radio studio: Radio Mafate. Little frequented, its ascent to an altitude of 850 m is well deserved. But at sunset, the view from the heights on the Piton Cabris to the ocean is sumptuous. Historically, this is where the chestnut "market" was held, i.e. the financial transactions between rich owners and "black hunters".
