Grande-Anse is an adorable cove of white sand, a real postcard setting. A haven of peace. At least during the week... The current is strong and swimming is strictly forbidden except in the secure pool built for this purpose (watch out for sea urchins!). On weekends, especially during the austral summer, the area comes alive. Reunion Islanders come here to picnic and warm their curry on barbecues set up in front of the ocean, under the vacoas and coconut trees. You can also eat in the rondavelles along the beach. The bravest will climb the Grande-Anse peak in a few minutes to appreciate the panorama.
