The Rijeka dubrovačka, literally "Dubrovnik's river", is part of the city of Dubrovnik and stretches north of Gruž. This bay was taken over by the great families of Ragusa, who built their summer homes here. Today, the whole area forms one of Dubrovnik's suburbs, comprising two settlements (Komolac and Mokošica) and villages (Sustjepan, Čajkovići, Komolac, Rožat, Prijevor, Dračevo and Nova Mokošica). A beautiful river region, residential, very quiet. Numerous Libertas buses serve Rijeka Dubrovačka, including 1A, 1B, 1C and 3 (from the Pile gate), whose terminus is Mokošica.
