Sutjeska National Park covers 17 km2 on the municipalities of Foča and Gacko, in the Serbian Republic of Bosnia. At the northern entrance, along the M20 road, the village of Tjentište/Тјентиште has about 80 inhabitants. It is located 27 km south of Foča and 34 km northeast of Gacko. Bus connections to Foča and Gacko. It is the largest and oldest Bosnian national park. Two-thirds of the park consists of forests up to 1,600 m above sea level, mostly conifers. There are 2,600 plant species, some of which are rare and/or endemic, and 300 species of birds, including the golden eagle, grouse and the rock partridge. It is also the place in the country with the highest concentration of bears and wolves.
