The most touristic island of the archipelago, 12 km from Dubrovnik, accessible by ferry. Since the 11th century, Lopud has belonged to the Republic of Ragusa, perpetuating the same maritime tradition. Its paths through lushly vegetated valleys, its botanical garden, its beaches and secret coves, a paradise for naturists, its historic village (church, monasteries, ruins of the rector's palace and fort), its seaside promenade - all these are assets for an island without a car. You can rent bicycles, climb to the lookout point on the north side of the island (Punta) or to the Polačica peak, and visit the church of Our Lady of Sunj.
