Occupied since prehistoric times, Erbalunga is a typical, ancient village in the commune of Brando. It's recognizable by its waterfront houses between sea and sky and its partially ruined 16th-century Genoese tower. The port of Erbalunga was one of Corsica's most important between the 12th and 18th centuries. The 17th-century church of Saint-Erasme (patron saint of sailors and fishermen), with its beautiful Baroque façade, can be seen here. Today, the village is well known as a haunt for visual artists and for its famous music festival, which features some of the biggest names on the French music scene.
