In a landscape embracing sea and forest, the village is scattered on a ridge among cultivated terraces. The beautiful parish church of San Martinu dates from the 17th century. The picturesque D80 runs north-south through Licciola, Grisgioni and Pietranera, the commune's most populous hamlet. These mainly residential hamlets each boast a few old houses, a ruined Genoese tower and a pebble beach. Expanding modern housing makes them remote suburbs of Bastia. Take the D131 to the hamlet of Castagnettu and enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the sea and the Tuscan archipelago!
