This small fishing town is located on the west coast of the peninsula. The beauty of this coastal strip, which is home to more than 150 species of birds, and the activity of the port - quite impressive in size for such a small place - are of interest. Seven kilometres away are the ruins of the fishing village of Bárstendar, destroyed by a storm at the end of the 18th century. A little further north, you can admire an amazing church made of volcanic stones and with a multicoloured bell tower, built in 1887, the church of Hvalsneskirkja. As photogenic as it is atypical, photography lovers will appreciate the detour.
