Behind this common Icelandic name you will find a glacial valley in the hinterland of Borgarfjörður and the former farm of the famous Snorri Sturluson, author of theprosaic Edda, theHeimskringla and some of the Icelandic sagas. Today, Reykholt is little more than a small village in a beautiful geothermal landscape. Snorralaug (Snorri's bath) is a small primitive pool from the time when the great scalde lived in Reykholt. The bath is fed by a small aqueduct that brings water from the nearby Skrifla hot spring. You will also notice the curious church, very well designed with its straight lines.
