Travel Guide Albe

Located a dozen kilometers north of Avezzano, Alba is a small village perched at an altitude of about 1,000 meters, dominated by Mount Velino. It is a hamlet of the municipality of Massa d'Albe and its occupation dates back to very ancient times, as evidenced by the remains of megalithic walls adjacent to the village. Alba overlooks the ruins of the Roman colony of Alba Fucens, an important archaeological site today, which alone justifies a visit to this town. In the heart of the Sirente Velino Regional Park and not far from the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, Alba also offers many opportunities for nature walks in its surroundings.
