Cherasco is a small medieval town sitting on a spur overlooking the Langhe. Beautiful civil and religious monuments adorn the town, including the sanctuary of the Madonna del Popolo (1709), the 14th-century Palazzo Comunale and the Belvedere Arch (1667). Today, Cherasco has become the snail capital, and this delicious little mollusc is available in a variety of sauces in the local trattorie... Three times a year, in March or April, September and December, on a Sunday (the date changes each year according to the calendar), a major antiques fair brings together lovers of antique furniture and curious strollers.
