Racconigi is an important agricultural centre, after having been for a long time a place of silk production (the pretty silk museum is pleasant to visit, but, beware, it is only open on Sundays!), Racconigi is above all famous for its imposing castle, a holiday residence of the Savoys, listed as a Unesco World Heritage site along with the other royal residences in the region. However, the town should not be neglected, as it is home to a number of heritage treasures, including numerous 17th and 18th century churches, and a stroll through its streets will also allow you to admire arcaded passageways and private mansions.
