Rossana is a small village with fewer than a thousand inhabitants. In the medieval village, the parish church, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, has a Gothic aesthetic that sets it apart from other churches in the region, most of which are in the Baroque style. One of the building's stones bears the date 1104, which would suggest that some of its features date back much further than the 14th century. Its bell tower, complete with clock, is made of stone and brick. On the hilltop, you can admire the ruins of the ancient castle, originally a fortress as Rossana was an outpost of Saluzzo in the Middle Ages.
