Savigliano occupies a beautiful position between two rivers, the Maira and the Grana-Mellea. It has an important heritage and guided tours are organized to discover all the treasures of the town. The most important civil building, apart from the Torre Comunale, is Palazzo Taffini d'Acceglio, the former residence of a military family, which has two very elegant facades in its inner courtyard, pierced by fine arcades supported by twin columns in luminous sandstone. The interior is richly decorated, especially with paintings by Giovanni Antonio Molineri (1577-1631), who also worked in many of the city's churches.
