Animated by its artistic life, Spoleto is rich of its historical heritage and abounds in Roman remains, often embedded in the houses: walls, forum, theater, domus and the remains of an amphitheater. Spoleto, which has banned tourist cars, has a vast pedestrian area. Tunnels, elevators and conveyor belts connect the old town to the three large parking lots outside the walls. Also worth a visit are excursions to the Valnerina, to Norcia to taste the black truffle, to Cascia and, to the south, the Piediluco lake and the Marmore waterfall.
