Travel Guide Valle Di Cadore

This summer resort lies in the woods at the foot of the Dolomites. In the small valley of the Rio Vallessina, the view opens up to the wooded valley of the torrent Rite on the left, and higher up, to Forcella Cibiana. Below, the artificial lake of the Boite dam can be seen. Immediately overlooking the Boite valley is the valley's most spectacular church: the 18th-century Chiesa di San Martino, perched on a promontory and built on the ruins of a castle of Roman origin. It houses priceless paintings (Madonna and Child by Francesco da Milano). From the forecourt, you have a fine view of the mountain and the line of houses that form the center of Valle di Cadore.
