(1 300 m) To reach it, you must follow, for 13 km, the panoramic road which crosses the vineyards along the Vallée valley. The high plateau of the Renon is a succession of gentle waves covered with meadows, forests, dotted with mas and villas of the old nobility of Bolzano, which at the beginning of the century rose to the Assunta to escape the summer heat of the city. The Renon is also accessible for those who do not have car cars from Bolzano. You arrive at the edge of the high plateau, where a small train with reduced gauge, curve after curve, will lead you to Collalbo. Many trails are marked for walkers. One of the most interesting is that which leads to the land pyramids of Longostano. These "fungi" are also found in Soprabolzano and Auna. A slope-free trail allows access to these sometimes high metre tall clay cones and surmounted by a rock that preserves them from rainwater erosion. The climb towards the Corno del Renon, the highest peak, is more delicate but allows to enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramas of the entire South Tyrol region.
