To the north, Val Camonica is world famous for its prehistoric rock carvings. Over more than 8,000 years, from Mesolithic to Roman times, man has recorded his social and economic evolution in stone here. The engravings, made by scratching a glacial stone with a smooth surface, are an extraordinary testimony to the daily life of the people of the region known as "Camuneans". Initially hunters, then farmers, we follow their evolution through images up to the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. Hunting parties, battles between tribes and religious rites are the most represented scenes.
