An interesting example of a Saxon village, well preserved and picturesque, even if it may be preferred to more isolated and traditional localities. Situated along National Road 1, which links Sibiu to Sebeș, it contains a remarkable fortified church: in the face of increasing invasions, the original small Romanesque basilica was transformed, in the 15th century, into a veritable Gothic fortress, protected by a double perimeter wall and a massive tower. Cristian is also known as the "stork capital", due to the many nests that cover the electricity poles! Numerous buses from Sibiu (30-minute drive).
