This village of 5,000 inhabitants is world-famous for its romantic castle, said to have inspired the author of Dracula. Far from the crowds generated by the vampire legend, Bran and the surrounding area are also a gateway to the Bucegi Mountains and the Piatra Craiului National Park. As the cradle of Romanian agritourism, you'll be spoilt for choice here, with countless guesthouses and bed-and-breakfasts.Numerous buses leave Brașov for Râșnov, Bran and Moieciu de Jos. Buses from Brașov to Pitești or Câmpulung also stop at Bran. Trains to Zărnești stop at Râșnov, from where it's easy to reach Bran.
