This charming village is home to one of Transylvania's most beautiful fortified churches, built between the 13th and 16th centuries by Teutonic knights and Saxons. The main enclosure is circular, with walls 3 to 4 m thick! It contains over 270 cells, each belonging to a village family. Spread over four levels and linked by wooden staircases, they were used to store supplies. The central Gothic church dates back to 1250. The citadel is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (4 p.m. in low season), admission €4. From Brașov, you can reach Prejmer by train or bus (no. 520).
