This restaurant, which moved in 2019 and has therefore revised its decoration and menu a little, is run by a young chef of Yugoslav origin in vogue. Ljubomir Stanisic, that's his name, is currently one of the most talented leaders in Lisbon. It invites you to a journey made up of small delicacies based on typical products, bought at Mercado da Ribeira. Fluid and impeccable service in sneakers, friendly wine list... Ideally located in Parque Eduardo VII, Eleven proudly displays its place with panoramic views of the city and the Tagus. Inside, a chic atmosphere and a very bright contemporary decor. The map, developed by Chef Joachim Koerper (a Michelin star), perpetuates tradition with high quality local products, including fish, while providing a touch of singular creativity. The choice of very varied wines is perfectly suited to the finesse of the dishes. It is a splendid place to enjoy a gourmet map on the edge of the capital.

A successful gamble for top chef Vitor Sobral and his creative concept of auteur cuisine in a Portuguese-style tavern reinterpreted with a contemporary sauce. In a friendly bistro, welcoming a heterogeneous gourmet clientele, the little Tasca presents smart menus from 4 to 7 miniatures (not so mini!): samossas, cold or hot soups, cheeses, cold meats and canned goods, cooked shellfish... In short, the relaxed atmosphere at the table serves a good selection of local products. Not to be missed.

A few years ago, it was the vegetarians' meeting in Lisbon because it was one of the only options available. Today, we also go there for its cosysetting (with a pretty summer terrace) in a typical street, the quality and finesse of its world cuisine and its relaxing atmosphere for a clientele of aesthetes. Os Tibetanos has established itself as an essential reference in Lisbon. In addition to balanced and tasty dishes (tofu and seitan), you will also order fresh salads, doces (inspired desserts), fresh fruit juices and teas.

In Portugal, you have to taste at least once a cod dish, and there is something for everyone. Since 1976, this has been the only restaurant in Lisbon that offers a wide choice of dishes containing cod! No less than 10 preparations are offered here: baked cod, grilled, cooked with water, cod dish with cream, eggs, with cabbages or bread... One of our favorites for dinner. A warm and lively atmosphere in a renovated traditional tavern setting. Let yourself be guided by the advice of the servers, you will not be disappointed. The menu changes regularly but you will find local specialities. With fresh products, a very good combination of original and varied flavours in a set of typically Portuguese market preparations bound: ovos mexidos com alheira (scrambled eggs with sausage)... A word of advice: book because it always displays full.

Between Martim Moniz and Largo da Graça, a little gem where the expression "eating with your eyes" is more than appropriate. Baked or grilled specialties and typical Portuguese or even international dishes will fill the plates of languorous tête-à-tête. Depending on the weather and availability, settle down on the terrace (nice!) or in a beautiful living room with exposed stones, wood and metals with very intimate lighting. Creative preparations are offered, as well as a good selection of wines. Varied starters and salads, tasty main courses: meat, fish, pasta? Among the specialities, home-made cod. To finish off, a good dessert or an ice cream (wide variety of flavours). An address for a good meal or a mid-afternoon snack.

Housed in a two-storey Art Deco building, the space boasts a certain class with its window displays, revamped by Lisbon fashion and design stars. The brand is inseparable from its chef, Ljubomir Stanisic. Le Bistro offers petiscos from around the world and a seasonal menu inspired by Portuguese, French and even Slavic cuisine. After (or before) a visit to the cocktail bar, the dishes on offer will awaken your senses. A huge wrought-iron room, a modern design, large chandeliers decorated with cutlery and glass bottles, and an open kitchen from which you can watch the cooks at work. For lunch, we recommend the excellent veal burger with homemade ketchup. Large banquet-style tables, and a more intimate area. One of the capital's Michelin-starred restaurants. Fifty seconds is all it takes to climb to the top of the tower for a panoramic view of Lisbon. With your head in the clouds, you can begin your gastronomic journey with Spanish chef Martín Berasategui at the helm. He is one of the most awarded chefs in the world, with 12 stars to his credit. The smoky-blue decor, enhanced by copper accents, adds the necessary sophistication to complete the experience.

As Velhas means "the old ones" in Portuguese. In this establishment, the decor consists mainly of paintings and statues of elderly people (famous or not). As for the name, it comes from the two women who used to do the cooking. In a delicate setting under a beamed ceiling, you can feel that the dishes are prepared with care: cataplana de peixe, bacalhau no forno à minhota and rojões à transmontana and then a few delicacies to finish off. A must for all gourmets.

At the foot of the castle, the place is cute, all along, with exposed stones. Guida and Stéphane's welcome is very friendly and warm. We eat typical Portuguese dishes, monkfish with a shrimp sauce for example, and good starters such as homemade sardine pate. As a decoration, jewellery, paintings, etc. are on display. A restaurant where you feel good, perfect for a dinner for two or just for a quiet dinner. Avoid coming unexpectedly if you want to be sure you have a place.

On the largo de Santos, two large vaulted rooms, decorated with brick, as if this restaurant had been carved in stone. A traditional Portuguese cuisine, good simple dishes combining flavours and freshness. Some specialities like " Rissóis de mariscos" (seafood fritters) and Portuguese style pork liver with onion sauce. Hidden between the Rossio central station and the Bairro Alto, it is a restaurant with a half-tango, half-fado decor that invites us to travel. In a 30's decor, it presents a menu with salads, tapas, some good toasts, pasta and fish dishes, plates made according to the inspiration of the day as well as well-served Argentine meats. There are also some vegetarian options. Here you can dine al fresco while enjoying fine Portuguese and Argentinean wines. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the terrace.

A vegetarian restaurant, unpretentious at first sight, not far from Praça do Chile. Don't be fooled by its appearance, it's a good place to eat in the neighborhood. In an elegant setting, covered with wood and basalt floor, with well set tables overlooking the Tagus, this place develops delicious petiscos: black pudding (with cumin and cinnamon) served with fresh pineapple, beans in sauce, Queijo Ilha São Jorge cheese or atum grelhado (grilled tuna) or alcatra from Terceira Island (cow meat marinated with onions and laurel for twenty-four hours). A very nice discovery.

Located in the heart of the Príncipe Real district, this restaurant surprises with its sophisticated decor and plant-based entrance. In charge of the kitchen is the famous Louise Bourrat, winner of Top Chef in 2022. The restaurant is divided into two areas: one overlooking the kitchen, where you can watch the dishes being prepared, and the other forming a small, light-filled interior garden. Starters and dishes made with local produce, with flavors enhanced by Mediterranean or Oriental condiments. Not far away is Sandwich Club by BouBou's, offering street food.

Next to the Fado Museum, this restaurant opened its doors in the summer of 2012. It has a very beautiful space, spacious and bright. You can choose to eat inside under a large glass roof, or on the terrace. The waiters, elegantly dressed in black and red, will offer you a choice of various small dishes: garlic shrimps, grilled octopus, fish soup, clams but also porco preto with a red wine sauce, chorizo... We tasted and loved it, even if we would have liked a little more on our plates... Service and cuisine to match.

We hesitated a long time before giving you this address! For those who love tascas, popular atmospheres and generous cuisine, this is your den! At the entrance to Mouraria, not far from Martim Moniz, this restaurant prepares traditional dishes in pantagruelian proportions. The bacalhau à minhota is a delight, and we've heard that over 200 kg are sold every week! This address is part of the famous rota das tasquinhas and is therefore validated by the municipality and a local association behind this selection.

An all-you-can-eat buffet at low prices where you can taste Indian and Nepalese cuisine but also good pizzas, and curry dishes of course. At the Himalaya restaurant, the welcome is friendly, smiling and attentive. The space is large and lends itself well to meals with friends or large families. A few steps from the Avenida metro station, it's a good option to eat cheaply, and taste new flavors just a few steps from the center. For those who want a change from the Portuguese cuisine and have a nice meal. Recommended for small budgets.

Opposite the Santa Apolónia train station, a superb pizzeria that stands out for its original and informal concept. The pizzaiolos shape the dough and put the pizzas in the oven before your very eyes. Then the waiters move to bring the delicious pizzas, which are eaten on large tables, each lit by a lantern. Its terrace on the banks of the Tagus offers the perfect setting for a meal with family, friends or lovers. The space is always full and there is often a queue at weekends, but the pizzas are worth the detour!

In the street that leads to the miradouro of Santa Catarina, an economical restaurant that offers quality Portuguese cuisine, with fresh products, carefully chosen by the owner. At lunchtime, you can have a nice dish of the day, like a good fish. Among the specialties to be tasted: chicken with goat cheese, raisins, honey and ginger. The evening is also quickly filled! Moreover, the reception is very pleasant and attentive, and the owners speak fluent French! Recommended!

In a slightly old-fashioned setting, lost near the railroad tracks, this is undoubtedly one of the restaurants where you can eat one of the best fish caldeiradas. The fish is chosen with finesse, cooked to perfection and the sauce in which it is marinated has taste and flavor. Without hesitation, "la caldeirada da tia Matilda" is recommended here as a priority. Pleasant, friendly service. In short, a good address. For the curious, "tia Mathilde" is in honor of a great lady who opened a tasca in the 20s, where delicious petiscos were said to be served.

A restaurant like no other, whether in the kitchen or in the decoration. An intimate place, created by a Swiss couple, which serves only small tables, a decoration in the style of a small mountain chalet of the 1970s. The only TV here features a fireplace, the furniture has been fitted out, decorated and remodelled by Marc who has taste and a lot of inventiveness. On the kitchen side, Sindi gets his recipes from his Swiss mother, with onion soup, pork stew, not forgetting the traditional fondue. Different and surprising.

What could be better than a real homemade hamburger? This is an address that will satisfy sandwich lovers of all kinds. On the walls a large list of homemade hamburgers, cheeses, bacon, vegetables (if you are vegetarian), it is up to you to choose the foods that tempt you the most. Welcome to the home of celebrated chef José de Avillez! A restaurant that remains one of the city's trendiest addresses to this day. It is divided into several areas that have appeared over the years. The latest of these is the pizzeria upstairs, where there's even a children's playroom. In the Mini Bar, you can extend your meal with dancing or live music. Alternatively, the Páteo and Taberna offer petiscos and Portuguese cuisine at any time of day.

This cute little restaurant takes you to Mozambique! In a warm and colourful setting, the boss Chamba welcomes you and even plays a traditional musical instrument from time to time. But Mozambique, you will find it especially on your plate because Chamba prepares delicious specialities from his country. If you are not tempted by an exotic dish, you can always enjoy a pizza over a wood fire, the chef's other specialty (he was a pizza chef in a previous life).

Located at the beginning of the shopping street near the pier, this restaurant offers dishes based on fish and/or seafood. You can easily spot it with its facade and colourful sign. Seafood lovers will be delighted because everything is fresh and of high quality. It has a large room for group dining but also a terrace to enjoy the sunny weather. Among the dishes, we recommend lulas gralhadas or the traditional sea bream. Vinho da casa is a sure thing.

After the opening in 2015 of a first ZeroZero pizzeria in the Principe Real neighborhood, here is another sign of this name, created in 2017 on the riverfront in Parque das Nações. Same concept around the Italian gastronomy with a wider menu: pizzas with light and crispy dough cooked in oak wood fire, pastas, vegetarian dishes but also risottos. We love this warm place, its terrace and its superb view on the Tagus.

Located on the edge of the Parque de Monsanto, not far from Belém, this is, as its name suggests ("fish market"), a fish and seafood restaurant. The room is rustic and spacious, with a warm, local atmosphere. In the center is a large aquarium and a fish stall - just like at the market. Next to the stall is a large barbecue where the fish is grilled. This is the originality of the house! The restaurant also offers a good selection of wines and various homemade sweets, such as pastel de nata.

In a little street in the upper quarter, perhaps one of Lisbon's best Italian restaurants, or at least the one most associated with the capital's movida. It's famous for its veramente italiana owner and its minimalist 1950s decor, with pastel-colored walls and furniture. After a delicious gazpacho, set your sights on one of the many pizzas (nice), fresh pasta (okay) or risotto (not bad), or why not the filet of three fish with pistachio sauce! This is a restaurant that is as traditional as it gets amidst the more modern concepts that can be found in the Parque das Nações. You will find a selection of many regional dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Served as a terracotta dish or small casserole, the cuisine is generous and copious: monkfish and shrimp brochettes, grouper massada, polvo or bacalhau à lagareiro, arroz de pato, the traditional migas of Alentejo, and also some grilled meats. For dessert, fruit or why not the famous sericaia.

In a welcoming, traditional village-style setting, come and taste Alentejo cuisine that smacks of its peasant origins: cold meats and cheeses, soups and açordas, migas with pork, hare with beans... Not forgetting the region's famous southern sweets: pão de rala, encharcada de ovos, bolo rançoso and sericaia de Elvas (you know, with candied greengage on top). All in all, good, nutritious food. Located in the north of the city, established in an old grocery store, this tasquinha serves not only excellent petiscos (chouriço, fifth, ovas de, polvo de…) but prepares good joyous, ravigotante and prétention cuisine (orange duck, feijoada to brasileira, choquinhos fritos).

An institution opened in 1936, it can be eaten at any time of the day or night. In this large refectory with arcades and tables, benches and wooden stools, there are couples of retired people, tourists or partygoers attracted by the smell of chorizo bread coming out of the oven. All the best values to recover your strength or to waterproof: caldo verde (green cabbage soup), pão com chouriço (chorizo bread), pastéis de bacalhau (cod fritters) and arroz doce (rice pudding)... As often happiness can be summed up in simple things!

A Russian restaurant in Portugal, why not? An alternative to Portuguese cuisine. A very different restaurant, with red and black colours that reminds us of the origin of the bosses! An avant-garde decoration, forbidden at the time by Stalin, lights and candles to accompany your culinary journey. A discovery of dishes from the former Eastern bloc countries, elaborate and popular, such as koteliete (beef and pork cut into pieces, with onions, bread and milk). Without forgetting a vodka to digest well! To be tested with delight.

Close to the Oceanarium, in an area of Lisbon not necessarily known for its high gastronomy, it is a specialist in seafood and fresh grilled fish. Among the sure values, let yourself be tempted by fried cuttlefish, rice with lobster or white grouper and clams. Expect rather high prices.

Named after a tea prized by the gauchos of Rio Grande do Sul (Southern Brazil), this chain has several branches in Lisbon. The colourful and friendly area is ideal for a traditional Brazilian churrasco made up of good grilled meat (including picanha, filet mignon and many other equally prized pieces, sometimes on skewers), not to mention a feijoada (a kind of Brazilian cassoulet) and a magnificent sideboard, which you will have the honour of attacking at a fixed price until you are satisfied.
